1) Montrose YMCA was successful in it's application from Lloyds TSB in relation to the Community Capacity Building Grant. This grant looked at the Goverence of the YMCA and also the creation of a Buisiness Plan both of which are completed and the Management Committee would like to thank the consultants who helped them to complete this work. Grateful thanks to Jo Clifton and Chris Jay for their hard work and Lloyds TSB for making it all possible.
2) Montrose YMCA is holding it's AGM on Tuesday 21st May at 7.00pm in the facility at 98 Murray Street, this is an invitation to members of the community to come along and see and hear what is happening at the YMCA.
3) Like all other Charities and Voluntary organisations the YMCA is always looking for people who may be interested in joining the Management Committee and thanks to the Capacity Building Grant we now have a pack available for all perspective volunteers. 4) The George Norrie Achievement Award that was launched last year and presented at our special end of year awards party was won by, Junior Award, Erin Colford, Lochside School and the Senior Award by Laura Thorne, Montrose Academy. Congratulations to both these young ladies it is a great achievement.
5) A new innitiative has been developed, that is The Saturday Night Music Group this in partnership with Tayside Police, Community Liason Officer George Abbot and Constable Bob Russell will be working with the young people to enhance their Personal Musical Skills and also introduce them to the wider aspescts of Music Styles and Lyrics.
